Any age and number of contestant, with a minimum of 1 member playing the harmonica。

Scoring standard:

Each soloist, group or orchestra receives a specific rating for his/her/its performance. Evaluation by the jury are presented by a total of 99 points which will be distributed as follows:

A. For the Creative Category:

·Musicianship--30%

·Technique--30%

·Creativity--30%

· video standardization -10%

B. For all other categories:

·Musicianship--40%

·Technique--30%

·difficulty--20%

video standardization-10%

 C.Five judgers are assigned to in the preliminary competition,and seven judges in the final competition .The points from each individual judges shall range from 65 to 99. The top and bottom points are discarded, the average of the remaining points are the final rating for the performance(keep one decimal place)

D.The awards are: 

·First place -one person/group

·Second place-one person/group

·Third place-one person/group

The rest of the contestants will also be awarded according to their end result:

Gold – Exceeding 80 points (including)

Silver - 70 to 79 Points

Chromatic Solo

One accompanist playing instrument other that harmonica, or BYO accompaniment playback device is allowed. One piano is supplied by the venue, no other instruments will be supplied. 

10 hole Diatonic Solo

One accompanist playing instrument other that harmonica, or BYO accompaniment playback device is allowed. One piano is supplied by the venue, no other instruments will be supplied. 

Tremolo solo

No accompaniment is allowed

Tremolo solo with accompaniment

One accompanist playing instrument other that harmonica, or BYO accompaniment playback device is allowed. One piano is supplied by the venue, no other instruments will be supplied. 

Duet

Duos (two harmonica players); No other instruments, choice of music piece with minimum of two harmonic parts 

Trios

Trios :No other instruments，choice of music piece with minimum of three harmonic parts

Chamber Music

(4-6 players) No other instruments, choice of music piece with minimum of four harmonic parts, no conductors

Harmonica Ensemble

Harmonica Ensemble (7-14 players) No other instruments, choice of music piece with minimum of four harmonic parts, no conductors 

Harmonica Orchestra

Harmonica orchestra (15+ players) Choice of music piece with minimum of four harmonic parts. A minimum of 80% of members playing harmonicas is required. Conductor is allowed and will not contribute to the overall number of players.

Remark：

All music must be performed completely. More than 40 groups for solo、duet、Trios、Chamber Music are set up for the preliminary and final.
